The Wire In The Blood - Val McDermid This is one of the best books I've read in a while. McDermid keeps the suspense going to the point that I had to, toward the end, stop reading because it was making my hands sweat and increasing my heart rate. Then I stayed up later that night to finish it. There were a couple real surprises in here, which I don't want to mention for spoiler reasons, but it was well-plotted, well-paced, with likable and sympathetic characters.
